one days that I'm late with my blog post on this issue has to do with yesterday's event, which I have visited. The VVN-BdA Mainz was invited to commemorate the Jewish Mainzer Alfred Epstein.
Alfred Epstein was born in 1903 in Mainz and died after an interesting and eventful life in 1991 also in Mainz.
He was a Jew, he was politically active and had to flee in 1933 after Hitler came to power in Germany. Some stages of his life been found for the exhibition "Despite all this, the last year was seen in Mainz in the House of Youth, gathered. Said Alfred was a member until his flight of the Social Democratic banner. Yesterday's event was
never published his memoirs in the center. Two drama students read aloud from it, while making known by two other contributors to individual stations of Epstein's life.
All in all it was a very interesting evening, which prevented, however, that I mentioned yesterday could write something on this subject.
I would also like to brief resume of Erwin Epstein . The younger brother Alfred also fled to Paris in 1933 and 1936 went to Spain to the International Brigades. He fought in the "Thälmannbatallion" and was one of 10 of Mainz, the support during the civil war, the troops of the Popular Front government against the English, German and Italian fascists. Erwin Estein 1938 was the age of 26.
